My first batch of line-dryed clothes

I always promised myself I would never do this. I never took into account the fact that I might live in a house so old that it doesn't have the right wirering for a dryer.

My galaxie 8015

Check it out. Today I was driving home from a failed mission at dmv (they are closed on saturdays. Who knew?) and decided to stop by that creepy thrift store on 14th and park? Broadway? I don't know, whatever that main street is. Anyways, had never been in there (cause it looked creepy) but for some reason I stopped today. Lo and behold, they were having a special 50% off everything sale. I walk in, and the first thing I saw was this sweet sewing machine for $20. Which means that I just scored a brother galaxie 8015 for $10. I hope it works.

Smooth jazz...

Like the type heard in sauna commercials, elevators and Fred Meyers, was pulsing out of this ridiculous vehicle. Oh Chico.

I love it

When my diet coke steams cause it's so cold when I open it. I also enjoy sitting on the couch with a cat in my lap enjoying "fine chocolate filled wafers". I look forward to picking my husband up from work in an hour, however.

Today I had an interview at the lulu' warehouse. It went very well I thought. It would be a part time job where I would help with the shipping of things and it sounds like getting everything organized and set up for an online store, too. They just started a few months ago and need to work out some kinks and get some systems in place. I was poking around their online store and pretty much the coolest things ever are these tights.

so this lady is having a jewelry giveaway from her etsy shop, it is suuuuper super cute. You can check it out here.

In other news, I cut my hair off today! It was fun. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of our beloved chub-chub, in case he ever chances to be eaten. That would be devastating, but at least he will always be immortal in the pages of my blog.

Now I just have to get some up of Reuben, he's harder, cause he moves faster and won't ever look at the camera.

possible twist in the attempted murder trial

last night as Bryan and I were sleeping, something very odd occurred. I kept hearing little rodent scratches, but as i was sleeping I assumed that Chub-chub was just being noisier than usual in his cage. Hamsters are nocturnal, right? I must just be going crazy. I am, but apparently it wasn't related. There was a hamster crawling on us as we slept. He was running back and forth along my side of the bed, in all kinds of crazy hamster fashion. Down to my feet, up to my head and amongst the pillows, back under the pillows over my head down to my feet ... Kind of a stressful thing to wake up to; the delusional half-sleep-half-wake-eyes-closed-eyes-open-creepy-crawly-this-better-be-chub-chub-or-i'll-scream feeling is never a pleasant one at two in the morning. Trying to catch a wayward hamster isn't very entertaining, either, when its dark and cold and you don't know whats going on. I caught him, but couldn't convince Bryan to put him back in his cage.

"I don't know how to get in there!"
"well you're on the outside. That's part of the sleeping on the outside rules!"

So I did it. Stupid Chub-chub had managed to UNSCREW the top to his space-needle like pod, get out somehow, climb down from on top of the TV and get into bed with us. I don't, dear audience, think you understand the gravity of him unscrewing the lid to his pod. That's like you lifting off the roof of your house so you could go to the bounce house next door, WITH YOUR BARE HAMSTER HANDS!

Geez. This guys a maniac.

I just realized I have eaten nothing but truffles and diet Dr pepper all day. I suck at nutrition.

Attempted murder at the Gumpy household.

Earlier this peaceful March afternoon, the quiet civil chub-chub barely fled a gentleman with murder on the brain. Chub-chub (the Gumpy hamster) was minding his own business, taking his afternoon nap, when he was so rudely interrupted by a death-defying plummot from a ledge to the floor in his hamster pod. The vilain responsible, Reuban (the Gumpy cat) had crept up unawares, taking advantage of the absence of the Gumpy's for Sunday brunch, to (allegedly) knock the hamster (house included) off the desk top in hopes (allegedly) of a mid-afternoon joust, followed by a light snack! Thankfully, resourceful Chub-chub absconded (with his lunch intact) to the shoe closet, where he was found after much worry and heartache on behalf of the Gumpy's. Reuben stands trial this Wednesday.

the jig is up

the guest count for our wedding in 18 days has crept to 162.

now, that's not so bad, you may muse.

sure, unless you take into account that our max number started out at 80, and the home where we're having it doesn't know the difference yet. awww geez.

Saturday, February 7, 2009

so i just went to get some groceries...

and i saw this.

That defeats the whole purpose.

look who's sitting on my lap

His name is Reuben, and he is our new cat. He's a cuddle cat, which is awesome. I like him.

Friday, February 6, 2009

i didn't forget about you, i promise.

ok, maybe i did. i haven't been on my blog since december 16th. shame on me. hey, in my defence, i've been busy. planning a wedding, quitting my job, spray painting sticks. it's a hard life.

Bryan and i found a house to live in after we get married. it's cute, very little but we'll make it work. we moved him in a few days ago, and it's starting to come together. we need shelves more than anything else. shelves and cubbords and bookcases. maybe i'll build some with the table saw we have in the back. (*?*) good question. i don't know.
