Earlier this peaceful March afternoon, the quiet civil chub-chub barely fled a gentleman with murder on the brain. Chub-chub (the Gumpy hamster) was minding his own business, taking his afternoon nap, when he was so rudely interrupted by a death-defying plummot from a ledge to the floor in his hamster pod. The vilain responsible, Reuban (the Gumpy cat) had crept up unawares, taking advantage of the absence of the Gumpy's for Sunday brunch, to (allegedly) knock the hamster (house included) off the desk top in hopes (allegedly) of a mid-afternoon joust, followed by a light snack! Thankfully, resourceful Chub-chub absconded (with his lunch intact) to the shoe closet, where he was found after much worry and heartache on behalf of the Gumpy's. Reuben stands trial this Wednesday.

Reuben is NOT guilty. It's not his fault you've got a prey animal in the house! I will gladly stand as a character witness for that very fine kitty. And you should know, hamsters are smart, and not to be trusted. They're known to taunt and torment poor innocent kitties, in hopes of arousing owner sympathy and usurping cat's place in the family. Don't fall for it.
Just saying...
Keep in mind jury selection is very important. I am sure innocence will be the outcome with an impartial jury of 12 cats.
no one takes the side of the poor defenseless hamster! talk about cat nature, cats are natural killers, its true. but hamsters are natural peacemakers! they just cuddle and wiggle their noses. is there not a soul on the side of Chub-chub? will no one take a stand?
Grandma Gumpy feels that Chub-Chubs fall was self inflicted. To blame the cat, shame on chub chub.
Hahahaha, well played. Both your writing and Mr. Chubb Chubbs gymnastic manuevers.
I think Reuben has sociopathic tendencies. Definitely a wayword youth. I blame the parents.
There is some photographic evidence to be admitted, check it out http://mine.icanhascheezburger.com/view.aspx?ciid=3635053
Clearly you haven't found yourself on the receiving end of a hamster's teeth yet! Keep a tourniquet handy;)
