the blog the first

So Bryan always is going on about how so and so blogged this, and them and them blogged that. between that, and him showing me his everlasting, ever boring (to me) blog statistics, I, with my sinful human nature, coveted this "blog family" if you will. Welcome to the blog of Rachel. Now Bryan and I can compare who gets more blog views, comments, etc., perhaps even spur a long awaited, smack-down, drag-out pointless fight. Seriously guys, help me get his goat. (Lemos's, please don't fear for your goats, I mean that figuratively.)

Right now I am attempting to cook Bryan and I dinner. I do best with simple, so i went with pasta. I find when in doubt, go with pasta. It's easy, tasty, and really, really hard to mess up. You put n0odles in boiling water, and let sit. The worst it can taste is either slimy and overcooked (which isn't that bad, the sauce hides it) or kind of undercooked and crunchy (which is worse that slimy and overcooked, but still not that bad). Sometimes it might even boil over a little bit. Thankfully, I've pretty much mastered the art of boiling noodles. Tonight however, I decided to be adventurous. Daring. Unconventional. Radical. One might even say irresponsible, depending on the end product. I am going to cook a vegetable. Asparagus.

"That's silly. Why is she making such a big deal out of a simple vegetable?"

Well dear friends. Cooking has never been my forte. Nor has spelling. Unrelated, but anyway. I'm gonna step out of my box, just for Bryan.

Ok, food's almost done, I'll let you know how it turned out.
