oh dear.

money is one of those things that is super useful yet super irritating when you need it and don't have it.

planning a wedding is apparently one of those things you need money for.

so is getting to work, sleeping under a roof, getting teeth pulled, and being able to communicate.

i so wish i had a super rich relative right now.

Holy moley.

I'm engaged.

Oh my gosh.

Driving down the 80?

8 miles from vacaville? Hmmm. Bryan made me bring a "business casual" change of clothes... A black dress and cute heels... He said I couldn't be a hippie and wear tights and a sweater with it. Whatever.

So the plans changed like 10 times. First we were going to a casino in Oroville, then we were going to the black crow, whatever that is, then to lutties? In woodland, then to somewhere in Davis, then to BJ's for tzuki, then he just said we should go to marine world. Oh my. I think he's just gonna kidnapp me and leave me somewhere.

Uh oh.

Bryan's up to something. I thought he had work this morning, but I got a rude awakening via doorbell ditch at 9, with a note saying dress warm and be ready in 45 minutes. He calls it our 6 month celebration.

I'm hungry.

Goodness gracious.

I am so beat at this moment in time. If you've ever felt like you are glued to the floor through your bed that's about where I'm at right now. I'm waiting for Bryan to get off so he can come home (I call it home, and I wish it was one place, but sadly it's just my apartment) and I will make him dinner. I was going to go for taco salad (he said that sounded good a few days ago) or pasta (see blog on how quick and easy I think pasta is) but even those simple meals seem daunting right now. (now, before you judge me, realize that it is one in the morning and Bryan won't be getting home from work till 1:30, 1:45.) the plan is stove top stuffing. Now, I haven't had stuffing in eons, but the total prep time is under 8 minutes. At 1 in the morning? That's what I like to hear.

Awesome. I just did a crazy cat like strech while laying on my bed, and accidentally knocked a random box of small noisy junk to the floor. To those of you who have not realized it yet, I am a chronic pack rat, with a knack for clutter and an aversion to organization. I just love saving everthing, inhopes that someday I will use those sweet pretty colored paper clips in some new exciting way, or that someday I will find the perfect item to decopage with all the cool snipits of pictures I clip off of trader Joe bags. However, until those elusive days shine their bright happy faces at me, I am stranded 'midst boxes of stuff that end up on my bed cause I was searching for a loose new contact that I will inevitably knock over at some point and be to drained to pick up. Anyways.

Bryan just texted me, I think he might be on his way question mark? It was a very elusive text, I'm not sure if I want to peel myself up and prepare stuffing just quite yet. He did say that we should have aca taco, and that means I would just have to lay here until he rang my doorbell.... No. I went grocery shopping and we need to take advantage of it. We have a tendancy of never making food, and I blame it mostly on the hours we keep and how little we see each other--we don't want to waste our quality time on too much cooking. However, eating out all the time is A. Very expensive B. Making us chubby and C. Downright lazy. We have made dinner every night this week and I refuse to break the trend even if dinner is merely stuffing. It's hard to get gourmet when you can barely prop your eyes open. However, simple is sometimes the best, who knows? Maybe I'll get fancy and sprinkle cheese on top or something, cheese makes everything better. For reals. It does.

Taking care of Bryan has actually got to be one of my favorite hobbies. Whether it's wiping bloody drool off his chin or keeping him company when he's working, I love doing things that are going to make him happy / make him feel better. He's been through quite a bit in the past few weeks, and although I can't stand the thought of him in pain / being sick, it's given me so many chances to spend time with him and take care of him. I think that's why the most, it's been so nice just to be with him all the time BEFORE 12:30 that any reason that I get to is fine by me and most welcome. Wisdom teeth? No biggie. Random hives he got? Totally awesome. Just more excuses for him to get to hang out at home, and me with him.

Bryan Gumpy is sick again.

Now he has some ridiculous rash and flu-like symptoms. Not fun at all. It seems like the both of us have been getting sick/tooth-hurty/in some pain a lot in the past couple of months. Sooooo not fun. However, Bryan being sick is a superb reason to make dinner once again. I'm gonna be honest with every one out there, I am burnt out on my diet of Aca Taco, KFC, Mi Pueblito, Taco Bell, and Jon and Bonnes. I have put on a sufficient amount of winter weight and then some. It's time to Buckle down and start taking the time to plan out lunches and dinners and going to the grocery store. We waste so much money and are both getting chubby eating food that is just not good for us in the slightest. After I got off work tonight, I called Bryan (who's been glued to the couch all day) and tried to figure out what to get us for dinner. Nothing, nothing was sounding appetizing, cause all I am used to eating is gross fast food. He would come to no decision, he said his head hurt too much to think, so it was up to me. I could do no wrong as long as he got some dinner. I ran accross the street to WinCo and started wandering. I picked up stuff to make one of Bryan's favorite foods...

I got back to Bryan and Bryan's apartment to the sounds of Madden for X-box. Now, the only video games I have ever shown intrest in are Super Mario 3 for the original Nintendo and Guitar Hero, just because it's awesome. Oh, and Minesweeper, but that's on a computer. Anyways, I did not mind at all hopping in the kitchen and whipping up some dinner. Well, nothing was really whipped and I wasn't really hopping either, but bear with me. I got the components for pepperjack turkey sandwhiches on oatnut bread. Mmm, mm good. And easy. Bryan ate and was happy (with a purple splotchy face) I have lunch for tomorrow and the world at large is happy.

Wow. They're still playing Madden.

Jello and hedgehogs

This creature might just be the most odd looking and adorable. A Hedgehog was used as a weapon by a man in New Zealand, March 2007.  He faces up to 5 years in prison if convicted. Mrs. Bruner's class at Elementary West in Michigan have a hedgehog as a class pet. Her name is Hedgeetta. She is married to a hedgehog named Gonzo. They had a litter of Hoglets in the fall.

In other news, (which I just spelled noose...) my eye is drastically irritated, red, and painful. Super awesome, I know.  When I woke up this morning it was just kind of red, but I remember rubbing it all night, which probably didn't contribute anything positive to the situation. So, I wore glasses instead of contacts, and forewent the mascara.  However, right as I got to work, Amy said, "Rachel, your eye is so red! What's wrong with you?"

Thanks Amy.  Really. I hadn't noticed.

It was getting redder and more gross and painful as the day went on. Now, most of the time I really enjoy my job.  Condensed, I get to pick cute clothes to show people, put together outfits, and make sure my customers are lacking for nothing. It's like a jumbo game of Dress Up, where if you dress them up and they like what outfits you picked, they will buy it. However, no one wants to have somebody pick them out clothes who looks like their next accessory choice should be a pirate eye patch. I couldn't even do anything on the computer cause my eye was so light sensitive. For reals, I was a mess. Thankfully, it was an opening shift so there weren't too many guests, and we're still dealing with the thing where we're sending out all the old "unique" sale merchandise, so I got to hang out in the back scanning sean john puffy coats and lime green le tigre polos.  My eye at this point felt like a lawn gnome was alternately shining a spotlight in it and then pressing it with his thumb into the back of my brain.

There was no way I was going to be any use for the rest of the day, I was actually worried that my eye was going to fall out of my head.  We had ample coverage, so I got to go home early.  I was going to go home and take a nap, and if my eye didn't feel any better when I woke up, I was going to go to the optometrist.  So, I got myself out to the little Toyota Cressida, got in, and attempted to drive home.  I could not for the life of me force either one of my eyes open, it was way to bright outside.  I was literally driving with my eyes closed, which is 97.2% of the time a bad idea.  I pulled into the closest driveway I could find, and called Bryan to let him know that his girlfriend was broken.  He came and picked me up, cause he's awesome, and then I went to sleep until now.

I am sitting (more sprawling) on Bryan Gumpy's couch, listening to Augie discuss the world at large and asking Bryan if he is trying to bake noodles.  He's not, he's actually baking those Pillsbury Grands biscuits--the ones that we bought when we went to the grocery store right after we met and are now 3 months expired--I won't be partaking. So yeah, Bryan's making us dinner, which I am super excited about.  Yay! it's done. that was super fast.

Pesto Tortellini and Cheese Tortellini and Pesto?

Superb.

And the moldy biscuits smell so good that I might be hitting some of that action, too.

Today at work we got an email from home office saying we get to send:

50% off stuff

things ending in  $.97

Gals Swim

and other random things...

back to Kearney, Nebraska to the Buckle online store. This makes me very happy, because i get to send these things out.

--things these guys wear

--belts like these

fred_flare_nautical_chain_necklaces_2.jpg

--necklaces like these

And other random, not really nice looking things. I was very excited indeed.

Bryan wanted me to add that I did indeed eat 1 and 1/2 of those aforementioned moldy biscuits, and that they weren't half bad.

He's taking Augie home, getting a milkshake or a sunday or something, and then we're going to watch a movie.  He told me to pick, I think I choose once.

Once was actually the first movie we ever watched together.  I sat on the opposite couch, and I think Bryan was a little disappointed.  Maybe I'll let him sit next to me this time. ;)
